FMCT's Children's Studio Theatre (CST) Presents
Schoolhouse Rock Live JR!

Directed by The Student Mentorship Program
Performances Run - August 15, 16, 17, 18 at 7:30 August 18 & 19 at 2:00

Synopsis: The Emmy Award-winning Saturday morning educational cartoon series is now the basis for one of the most fun & energetic musicals ever to hit the stage! A loose, revue-like structure allows for great characters to take the stage. With songs like "Conjunction Junction," "The Preamble," "Do the Circulation," and "Interplanet Janet," the cast and audience alike will learn as they listen to this upbeat and entertaining showtunes.

Synopsis: The framework of this spine tingler is unusual: A lawyer hires an actor to tutor him in recounting to family and friends a story that has long troubled him concerning events that transpired when he attended the funeral of an elderly recluse. There he caught sight of the woman in black, the mere mention of whom terrifies the locals, for she is a specter who haunts the neighborhood where her illegitimate child was accidentally killed. Anyone who sees her dies! The lawyer has invited some friends to watch, as he and the actor recreate the events of that dark and stormy night. A classic of the genre.

Humpty Dumpty is Missing

Synopsis: Humpty-Dumpty Is Missing! is an affectionate spoof of the private-eye thrillers of the 1940s and '50s and an exciting, fun filled way to introduce young audiences to this classic genre. Sammy Scoop is a private investigator in the tradition of his grandfather, Samuel Shovel, and his father, Sam Spade. Sammy faces the biggest challenge of his illustrious career with the sudden fall and disappearance of the jolly Humpty-Dumpty who apparently had no enemies. But Sammy and his sidekick, Alice from Dallas, soon come up with a list of suspects who had motive and perhaps, opportunity. Mistress Mary, Rip Van Winkle, Henny-Penny, Peter Rabbit and his sisters, Rapunzel and the Handsome Prince (who, because he is a painter, prefers to be called the Artist Formerly Known As the Handsome Prince) are among the many suspects called onto the carpet. A last-minute surprise appearance by two of fairy tale's most celebrated characters, Mother Goose and Mother Hubbard, finally help Sammy and Alice nab the culprit, the least likely suspect. Of course we'd never break tradition in that important area, as with the popular Trial of Goldilocks and The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf.

Synopsis: In our American culture It's a Wonderful Life has become almost as familiar as Dickens' A Christmas Carol. The story is a natural for a stage adaptation: the saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been quashed by family obligation and civic duty, whose guardian angel has to descent on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and to remind him by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born that his has been, after all, a wonderful life. This faithful adaptation has all your favorite characters: George and Mary Hatch, Clarence, Uncle Billy, Violet, and, of course, the Scrooge-like villain, Mr. Potter. This fine dramatization not only celebrates the faith of the season, it also celebrates the American philosophy of life: hard work, fair play and the love and support of one's family and community will be rewarded.

Synopsis: For the fourth year in a row the Faro-Moorhead Community Theatre will ring in the New Year with a celebration of music from the best musicals ever written. This year will delight with a few unknown songs, but we will also share the most popular songs from Broadway.
